Pros

First Point Group is one of the best places I have ever worked. The atmosphere is charged with encouraging energy from people that are motivated to work because they enjoy the people they work with. The flexibility that the company gives us is very refreshing and one of the only places I've worked where there are no 'negative motivators.' The managers do not shout at you if you miss a KPI, they ask why, and help you grow. It's a great place to be!

Cons

Working in telecom recruitment is not an easy task by any means. We work with some of the biggest Multi-Nationals in the world and therefore getting candidates placed in these companies can take a very, very long time. Particularly for permanent positions. The other issue is we do not provide a lifeless product that can be bought and sold like common resources! Our "products" make decisions of their own. They ultimately decide if an opportunity is going to be right for them or not, and can sometimes be flaky during the interview stages. Though I classify this as a 'con,' I think it too can be a Pro when you consider how you really have to hone your sales skills to keep both your clients and candidates engaged throughout the entire process. Lastly, the working hours are a bit above average, but because you're working with such cool people who eventually become your friends; it doesn't feel as much like going to work anymore.

Pros

Decent base salary increases for billing well.

Cons

Noone knows how to do business development. Leadership are only in their roles due to tenure, not because they have any experience in management. All they know is how to micromanage and berate, as that is what comes from the top down. Nothing is ever good enough, no matter how much you bill. They love to put top performers on PIPs if they have one bad month. C level is out of touch with the market and did not recognize there was a tech crash until 6 months after it happened.
