Managers will stunt your growth if they feel a threat. The projects are far in between and for a professional are not considered projects but merely simple tasks. The IT leadership and other IT are not qualified to hold their positions. Do yourself a favor and work for a company that encourages employee growth and will not "use" their employees to make themselves look good. Get rid of dead weight in your IT leadership in the Americas that are causing good talented workers to leave. Managers will try to con you into thinking you have a good "career" by giving you job titles but your days will be mundane and you will not grow. Your days will be boring. They will try to get rid of people they feel question their authority and/or are more qualified than them.
