Pros
A very young team. A lot of room to grow. Things are evolving fast. A very small team. Everyone could make a huge impact. Almost entrepreneurial but amazingly with stable project pipelines. Competitive compensation to other AEC companies. Employee benefits are from Trimble, with stock plans and 401k match etc. Half tech firm, half AEC firm. Special position to get expose to amazing projects around the globe. Good work life balance as an AEC company. I could always comfortably ask for time off to make up for any extra hours after project deadlines. Flexibility feels very rewarding. A place to learn fast. Self taught tons of stuffs through my years here, either passively requested from projects or actively driven by internal expectations. A diverse and inclusive team. Brilliant colleagues.
Cons
Still, a very young team. Some knowledge was lost in generational transitions. Requires a lot of self-driven motivation, not always a 9-5 life. There are historical burden on mature workflow/ platform dependencies . Projects are generally slow, since it is AEC industry. It takes years to witness one project from scratch to getting built. Mostly limited scope of work to BIM/ VDC in these amazing projects. Wish we could claim more responsibility and larger scopes towards design and form finding etc.
