Revolving door of good people; unable to obtain dedicated, honest talent - Account Manager General Datatech Employee Review

Pros

Only pro with value is the training available to you...reason for 1 star.

Cons

Revolving door: Unlike most, I survived over a year, so you could say I hung around the "tenured" crowd... so I've been in positions where I overheard OPEN conversations being had regarding the fate of a colleague's employment was decided on the spot, with a quick, "I don't know who he is, just let him go". That easy. Good talent gets wind of this, and they leave before they become the next person in line. Being that I experienced how life-changing decisions for others are made here, I should have known that this 'flip of a coin' extraction could one day happen to me. But this isn't about me, so I'll explain the extent of this issue: Oftentimes, when having an assigned engineer on a project or scheduled for a client-facing call, and the engineer didn't come in to the office one day, it's always a safe bet to ask around to make sure the said engineer was not fired or left overnight. This is an on-going concern throughout the office, almost daily. Desks being cleaned out is usually a gathering place for colleagues.

Pros

Management is very attentive and caring about individual employee's needs. My manager has invested in my growth and always gives helpful feedback for my development, and I have been able to grow in my role because of them. Even little things like when there is lunch in the office, the staff looks out for everyone with dietary restrictions and make sure to accommodate for employees. They take employee comfort seriously.

Cons

The workload can be a little fast-paced, and the work can vary a good bit depending on the season.

Pros

The work schedule is flexible is really about all.

Cons

The biggest issue is leadership. There is a lack of direction, consistency, and long-term planning. The work environment often feels chaotic, with priorities changing constantly and processes that are either unclear or nonexistent. Instead of developing employees and building stable teams, management too often reacts to problems after they occur. Job security is another major concern. Employees can go from working one day to being laid off the next with little warning, making it difficult to trust the company's commitment to its workforce. **My review reflects my personal experience. At the same time, I encourage anyone reading these reviews to look for recurring themes instead of relying solely on the overall rating. Multiple perspectives often provide a clearer picture of what it's like to work here.**
