Pros

Coworkers, healthcare benefits, location, snack wall, office dogs

Cons

Honestly every other aspect of this job. You will feel highly undervalued in a toxic environment. Let's start from the beginning, this job was GREAT when I first started (also when most of these reviews were written), there were growth opportunities and wonderful benefits that contributed to great work-life balance. I loved going into work every day and I loved the mission of the company, About a year in, things started to change. Our department was shuffled around and all of a sudden those growth opportunities disappeared. Our schedules changed, our time off was significantly cut, masses of employees were fired with no explanation, and the culture of the office shifted into an anxious mess. A snack wall and office dogs could not make up for the mistrust and terrible employee experience that was coming from the leadership. Every month something else was taken away or shifted to make our jobs less appealing and more stressful. I have never seen a less transparent leadership in a company. I am so thankful I found another job. Look elsewhere.

Pros

There are some really good, smart people to work with at Grove. Decent pay. All expenses paid trip to the annual company meeting in San Francisco. Employee discount on all products we sell and we also got samples of some of the Grove Co brand products that we developed. Small, scrappy teams – opportunities to help out on lots of cool projects.

Cons

There are also some really not smart people working there, and unfortunately they're director level managers and up. Lots of bad decisions from bad managers which led to layoffs literally every 3 months. Lots money wasted on redundant systems, inefficient workflow and operations processes leading to botched product launches and products going out of stock. Absolutely disasterous Shopify transition — that whole team should be gutted.
