Pros
Lots of ongoing training in internet sales and yellow pages. Base salary. Decent (though there are better) benefits package.
Cons
Quarterly self-review in front of peers. Tough, competitive marketplace that is very discouraging in this economy. Constant pressure and "never good enough" treatment by upper regional management. This company's policies and direction are in large part determined by the national marketing dept, taking away the empowerment of the local "on the ground" sales departments to make any meaningful decisions. This continually puts the sales staff between a rock and a hard place. A lot of negative pressure on local managers in turn is put onto sales staff. A fear-based environment.
