Leadership seems to be largely comprised of total frauds that have managed to capitalize on white privilege and consistently fail-up in life
I personally never had a manager out of the Virginia office that didn’t lie to me about significant matters
Most department managers (specifically the ones based out of Virginia) are just masters of delegation, and do nothing but take credit for the hard work of the people that they step on
There is nothing in place for career pathing, probably because “leadership” only hires cronies from previous work relationships instead of promoting from within
The pay is way below average. HR has been gaslighting us all for years and trying to insist that they pay on par with the national average, but in no way can any of us find numbers that support that.
The endless surveys, townhalls, team huddles, and video updates are all just propaganda to perpetuate the false narrative that the company is more successful than it is, more concerned with diversity than it actually is, and that employee morale is not in the toilet (which it absolutely is).
Work/life balance is not an option all employees. There are two types of employees here: Those who sing their own praise and do nothing but capitalize on the work of others (They reap the rewards), and those who actually do the work (only to be treated as meaningless human capital).
The place is full of low-level managers/team leads that are so consumed with personal agendas and vendettas that often takes priority over doing right by our customers.
HL keeps acquiring business that it has absolutely no business getting involved with. As a result, it has become a chop-shop for software and has completely bastardized and destroyed some really promising platforms and products.
Every time things are headed off a cliff, they restructure the organization. They bring in more outside people for BS leadership positions and it’s like a groundhog’s day of ego stroking and futile initiatives until we’re headed off the cliff again. Then the cycle repeats.
Employees drink too much at company events. This includes conferences with our customers. It’s noticed and embarrassing when customers make comments about it. You all clearly cannot handle drinking in mixed company, I’m not going to repeat some the alcohol-fueled antics, but it’s not a safe environment for anyone (especially female employees) when that happens.
The products are just plain broken. They barely function, and it's becoming public knowledge that we charge more now for products that are breaking down worse than before. Clients are vocal about feeling ripped off and scammed. It’s impossible to provide proper support, because no matter how hard customer service tries, the products don’t work, so no paying customer will ever be happy with that.
The Product Decision Team has become a joke. They are so bored with all the problems, they would rather come up with fun new projects for features that NO ONE IS ASKING FOR instead f tackling the unfun tasks of making the core products actually work. This was a team that went from being a driving force for positive change, to a hollow monument to the inflated egos that lead the PDT
The company clearly sees these reviews and knows that their employees are unhappy, but instead of addressing the matter they just post fake 5 star reviews to sweep it under the rug.
