Pros

One of the best reason to work with incitement is they provide a relax and chill environment for you to work in. As well as quite a number of achievement. There are plenty of laugh and joke going on around, which help you to relax on your job.

Cons

But probably because too chill and relax. When a new project is handle. There will be a lot problem which can be avoid if planning is done properly. So you will end up solving a lot sudden situation. Although everything is revised and improve throughout the project, some problem still can be avoided if planning and communication is done properly.

Thanks for your review and feedback. It's much appreciated, we try to learn from every review that we get. Would love to here some more concrete steps on how we could improve our planning, if you have any in mind - feel free to let us know. Let me explain why planning is a bit hard for us. We are a social business that is just starting out (2 years officially now). We test a lot, we pivot a lot, and we adapts a lot as we go. This is because we are trying to figure out what is the best way to do this for everybody involved (the communities, the team, the sponsors, and the partners). It sometimes may seem as if things are not planned well, but often they are - they just end up going wrong because we test a lot of different approaches, some of which will work, some of which won't work. In case they don't work, it often appears to be failed planning, but in reality we are simply trying out things. I won't deny that especially during the first few Liter of Light projects it was pretty chaotic, but I think that we've improved this a lot already, wouldn't you agree? There is improvement - partially thanks to people like yourself who help us with useful feedback! For the Liter of Light project specifically we have already implemented a variety of checklists, playbooks, and other helpful ways to plan the projects better - because we do recognize the challenge also of course. It's just that when you're trying to figure out the best way to run a project, the fastest way to do this is through trial and error. It's the only way what works and what doesn't, especially when dealing with large groups of volunteers. Despite the above, we try to always maintain the highest standards of work in everything we do. Our main goal is to create impact for underprivileged communities and the youths/volunteers that make it happen together with us. If you are a Light Engineer it means you know me personally, so come have a chat with me and let me know what exactly we should improve and some suggestions how! Would love to hear those! :-)

Pros

Incitement is not another conventional working place, it is a place where you can do what you love and make a contribution to the world while doing it. You will always have support, guidance, and feedback. This helps you to improve and learn everyday. You are available to give your opinion and ideas to contribute to the whole team because the team is super important and it is like a family with amazing people from different countries and cultural backgrounds. They are more than colleagues, they are friends and the fun continues after work with dinners, trips, parties and more. At Incitement everyone cares about you and your personal and professional growth. They recognized your work and the monetary compensation will be a result of it. You can manage your time, it is important to be responsible and get your job done. The holidays and time off are not worries at Incitement, you will have more than enough. You have flexible hours, pool day (it does not mean no work to do, it means you can work from the pool area and swim or enjoy the sun if you like it) and even better, you can work from home on Fridays. They provide tools for success, from laptops to books and learning courses, and many more. Another good thing is that you do not have a dress code, not suits and ties if you do not like it. You can be yourself and feel comfortable. Transparency and respect are also important.

Cons

The office is nicer every day but it is getting small

By October 1st, 2016 (when we have MSC status) you will set foot into a brand new office, bigger, better, and faster internet :-) Unfortunately without MSC status we can't do much, the downside of doing business in Malaysia... We're working on it! Thanks for your feedback :-)

Pros

Incitement has a pretty unique work culture, there's a balance of work and fun where everyone works hard and then party hard as a pat on the back. Incitement has flexible working hours, pool day takes place every Thursday (swimming is optional if you prefer to sit by the pool and do your work instead), and a work at home day. Days of paid leave is also quite flexible but as long as you get your work done. You get to work with people coming from different countries and cultural background whom are not only your colleagues but are your friends. Once you join the team, you become part of the Incitement family. They really care about your growth whether it's personal or professional, so everyone needs to come up with their own learning goals, how to achieve and utilise them, there's also a weekly progress/performance meeting just to check in on how everyone is doing. Incitement promotes learning and encourages it so they will sponsor one book a month for every individuals and any courses, seminars or workshops that will benefit your profession in any way. There are beanbags and everyone gets a Macbook (for work purposes). What I like the most about Incitement is that, there's no hierarchy, everyone just treats each other equally and with respect.

Cons

While the office is a great place to be at, the open space may be a little distracting at times when you need to fully concentrate on your work.

We couldn't agree more with your feedback, thanks for that! In order to address this issue we've reduced the amount of meetings to 1 meeting per team every week, and all meetings will happen on the same day. So there's 4 days per week without meetings. Also on Friday you can work from home to boost your productivity, and on Thursday we work from the pool. Last but not least, we've implemented Silent Hour, so that every morning until lunch the office is quiet and peaceful, without any distractions. Hopefully these fixes will help reduce distractions :-)
