Pros

InformedK12 is an organization with a mission and product that employees can genuinely stand behind. The customers you’ll work with are typically appreciative, and much of your role involves helping people who truly benefit from the solutions the company provides. From an inclusion standpoint, InformedK12 stands out. The workforce is remarkably diverse, and employees from a wide range of backgrounds tend to feel safe, respected, and comfortable being themselves—something that isn’t always guaranteed elsewhere. The technology itself is reliable and well-built. The engineering and support teams do an excellent job maintaining the product, which means that when occasional issues arise, they’re resolved quickly. The product's stability allows CSMs to focus on their clients’ goals rather than troubleshooting product problems. Customer satisfaction and retention rates are exceptional. However, the leadership culture doesn’t reflect that success. Even when the team is performing well, management can create unnecessary pressure and a sense of constant urgency that doesn’t match the reality of the results being delivered.

Cons

This review is meant to help others make an informed decision before joining the Customer Success (CS) team at InformedK12. While sad to post something negative about an organization that has many genuinely good people and a meaningful mission, it’s important to provide a realistic picture of what it’s like to work on this team. If you’re considering starting or continuing your career in customer success here, it is recommended you carefully reconsider. There are many other companies where you can develop professionally, feel respected, and work under leadership that supports your growth. The company overall has strong values and talented individuals, but the management environment within the CS team is deeply unhealthy. Communication often feels contradictory—what’s praised publicly is frequently criticized behind closed doors. Employees are encouraged to be creative and proactive, only to be told later that their approach was wrong or inappropriate. Regular one-on-one meetings often leave team members feeling discouraged and questioning their competence, regardless of their previous experience or success at previous roles. It is not unusual for employees to share how emotionally draining their interactions with leadership have been. The turnover rate on the team speaks volumes; many have left after similar experiences, and those remaining often express ongoing frustration and exhaustion. If you’re still interested in joining, take time to connect with current and former CS employees. Ask them directly about turnover, team culture, and their experiences with management. Their insights will give you a clearer view of what it’s actually like to work within the CS department at InformedK12.
