Pros

I’m not sure even the current employees know the pros.

Cons

Hired as a design grad, I was immediately launched into the thrilling world of manual QA and Jira tickets- because who needs design skills when you can chase bugs instead? Mentorship? Support? Design standards? Never heard of them. Graduates are placed on a one-year probation, during which time there is no sick pay, no option to work from home, and annual leave is accrued monthly. The approach to leave was inconsistent. I was previously told I had no annual leave left and had to take unpaid leave to go on a holiday. However, after handing in my notice, I was told I had five days remaining and was required to use all of them during my one-week notice period. I received no clear explanation for how this was calculated. When I asked to work from home during Ramadan to help manage fasting and commuting, I was advised to skip my lunch break and leave an hour early instead. The other option offered was to use some of my accrued annual leave if I didn’t want to attend the office. Apparently fasting while commuting and working 7.5 hours without a break is a perk. Throughout my time at the company, I was managed by two different team leads in succession. In both cases, I experienced consistent coldness and exclusion, despite their positive engagement with other colleagues. I was not given feedback or support to understand what was expected or if anything was wrong. As one of the few people of colour there at the time, it’s hard to not wonder why that might’ve been. After I resigned, my team lead and line manager did not acknowledge my departure or speak to me during my notice period, despite sitting in the same room. On my final day, my line manager sent a brief message via Teams while working from home. My team lead did not speak to me until I approached him to say goodbye. Overall, I did not feel supported in my role, and there were several instances where communication and management practices left me feeling isolated and undervalued. On a final note, as a designer, having that logo associated with myself is embarrassing.

We are grateful when individuals take the time to share their experiences, even when the feedback is challenging. Yet we do take exception where feedback is inaccurate, does not reflect reality, and is defamatory. We take such accusations incredibly seriously and ensure due diligence is applied in examining feedback to ensure its authenticity and accuracy. In responding to the comments that have both hurt, mystified, and disappointed the workplace colleagues you have left behind, we thought it most appropriate for one of our colleagues to respond to the comments you have made: Wajih Mourad, Financial Services - "I know that from my personal experience at Informed that honest feedback is always welcomed, even when it is challenging. However as a practicing Muslim who has observed Ramadan with the full support of my line manager and colleagues at Informed, I do not recognise the attitude and behaviour alleged in this 'review'. “I have previously written a blog about how inclusive the company is to all staff and this is equally true in terms of welcoming ethnic and cultural diversity. The Informed team, which includes both staff and contractors, is a wonderful, diverse array where everyone is genuinely welcomed. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, supportive, and we all have fun together while we work hard. “I also cannot recognise the suggestion of an environment where there is no mentorship or support. Two years into my first journey into the tech sector, I can honestly say that without mentorship and support, I would not have been able to thrive and progress as I have done". Informed Solutions is proud to nurture and support a diverse workforce. Our approach to equality, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace is evidenced through our Equal Opportunities Policy (mapped to the 2010 Equality Act), to which employees, contractors, and partners commit. As of June 2025, 40% of Informed’s staff come from underrepresented groups. Our teams are committed to supporting everyone at Informed, regardless of background, and we hope those who read your comments also read this to understand our people in reality. From a professional workplace perspective, it is regrettable that your time with us did not reflect the positive experience that the vast majority of our graduates report. We take all feedback seriously, as it provides us with the opportunity to reflect and to further strengthen the supportive and inclusive environment that we are committed to providing, which is reflected in four years' worth of 90%+ ratings in Great Place To Work, which is an independently collated and verified accreditation. We are particularly proud of our Graduate Associateship, which is designed to provide all new graduates, irrespective of their academic background, with structured development across consulting and digital delivery. This programme ensures that all graduates build a strong foundation in understanding how software and services are delivered, and how disciplines such as user-centred design fit within that delivery. Alongside client work, our graduates are supported by line managers, coaches, buddies, team leads, and communities of practice, as well as through our ISO-accredited InformedACADEMY™, which delivers structured learning programmes and masterclasses. Flexible working arrangements are clearly set out and agreed at the outset of everybody's employment to ensure consistency and fairness for all colleagues, and we encourage open dialogue at all times to ensure that adjustments better support their personal circumstances, without compromising their colleagues' wellbeing or workplace pressures. The success of our Graduate Associateship is reflected in the progression of many of our people: nearly 40% of our permanent team below Director level began their careers with us as graduates, with a significant proportion now in senior consulting and leadership positions. This outcome is testament to the supportive environment we are committed to creating and to the trust we place in our graduates to take on meaningful responsibility early in their careers. We are proud of the culture we have built over 30 years and remain committed to further strengthening it, and while we regret that your own experience did not reflect this, we are dismayed at the casual, but damaging references to racism and preferential treatment, which Glassdoor deems to be acceptable, even when they’re totally inaccurate and wholly unsubstantiated. Sincerely, Natalie Dunn HR Manager

Pros

The building is a lovely building One or two genuinely nice people

Cons

Even after being forced out in a deliberate and humiliating manner I still suffer from nightmares today. it's clear to see that the positive reviews are written by the CEO after seeing the negative ones. This is her style. I remember her reaction when she sent out the staff survey and was angry that people told the truth about what they thought of the company. You could not complete the staff employment survey anonymously, which gave her power. For me she felt threatened by young women and and if you were a female with children, your days were numbered. I dreaded any emails coming from the CEO. Imagine sitting at your desk, heart beating, stressed out as soon as received an email, fearful of of ridicule or criticism. and certain members of staff looked down on me because of my race and working class background. If you dare to speak out, you will suddenly find yourself being monitored for mistakes and then labelled as performing poorly and then put under investigation. The year I was there the CEO sacked 5 people on the spot, who were then thrown off the premises. The CEO would often rant at you, should you do something human, like make a mistake. At the time I was there the CEO was also HR. i spent days crying, miserable and alone. Even though it was years ago, the hurt and pain still remains, how the CEO and a particular employee nearly destroyed my life, In this company you will never get a second chance if you struggle or have any personal issues. They will tear you up.

We take all constructive feedback on board and are keen to look for ways to improve our workplace, so that we can attract and retain great talent. However, for this and similar reviews that are wholly untrue, hateful and trolling, our response is for the benefit of other readers. Given the very well publicised shortage of skills, it is obvious that people can chose the company that they work for and will quickly move onto another job, without much difficulty or drama, if unfairly treated. When we are required very occasionally to investigate and legitimately act on issues resulting from misconduct, we appreciate that this may result in retaliation and anonymous, negative posts on Glassdoor. In this particular case, we received from various concerned members of staff (not just one person, as is claimed in this review) reports of repeated instances of misconduct and also persisting under performance. These allegations were investigated and found to be true and significant. We understandably acted on this, doing so in a professional, respectful manner and as discretely as the challenging circumstances allowed because the person became verbally and physically abusive. We work hard to ensure that people enjoy working here and want to stay. We have a very multicultural and diverse workplace and foster a positive, inclusive environment where people feel respected, trusted, empowered and supported. The vast majority of people value and appreciate that, welcome the professional responsibility and opportunities offered, and can be entrusted with the flexibility and freedoms given to them. Informed consistently produces great work and wins so many prestigious awards because our people are motivated and inspired to learn, collaborate, problem solve and achieve together. On the company's website and Twitter feed, our people happily share their views and personal experiences about working at Informed, so please do look at those to help you form a balanced opinion. Pros

They didn't fire me during the COVID-19 crisis. I thought they might fire people as they need an excuse to do that.

Cons

The worth of an employee's effort is lost at a place like this as people are running around all day. When my workload became unbearable, I talked to my team leader to help reduce stress. Rather than helping me, he started listing the amount of work he has to do. It was quite disappointing.

Natalie Dunn, People Services As the responsible leader within our People Services team, I have full overview of the people joining and leaving the company. We’re a mid-sized business which means that we’re big enough to have the breadth of capabilities and resources to invest in upskilling, coaching and caring for our staff, whilst being small enough to get to know and treat our people as valued colleagues and individuals. In my view, this review is fake for two reasons. The first is based on the references to COVID and the timing that this person alleges to have left the company, because I know that no member of staff has been furloughed, made redundant or left for any COVID related reason. The second reason is that the company has diligently managed work priorities, individual workloads and staff wellbeing (using leading mental wellbeing triaging techniques) at daily team stand-ups and weekly meetings with their responsible director. Separately, People Services have called individual members of staff for relaxed, private chats whenever we sensed someone might be experiencing personal, home or work related problems. In these ways, we are checking-in with our people every single day to support their mental wellbeing and ensure they are coping with working remotely. No one has reported experiencing any significant issues, including any of our graduates and young professionals, and in particular there have been no problems with unsustainable workloads or people struggling with the work assigned to them. Since implementing full remote working, the company has gone to very considerable lengths to ensure that no one is isolated and it has never been left to the discretion of any individual team leader to make decisions about assigned priorities, workloads, personnel related issues or maintaining communications with team members. For all of the reasons outlined above, this post is in my opinion disingenuous. James Cruddas, Lead Technical Consultant Personally, I’m proud of the way that the company has come together as a whole to support each other and our clients through the challenges that COVID has bought us all. We’re a world class digital consultancy that has developed sophisticated digital work scheduling tools that enable all of our people to collaborate and support each other in an open, agile and adaptive way. These online tools have built-in safety features that alert us to and protect us from becoming overworked for lengthy periods of time. Don’t get me wrong, there are times when we are very busy – that’s when our daily team stand-ups and weekly director team catch-up meetings are used to re-balance the workloads, as well as renegotiate priorities and reschedule deadlines when necessary. Everyone is in the same boat, so both colleagues and clients have been very empathetic and supportive since COVID hit us. These online collaboration and work management tools, as well as the daily and weekly team catch-ups, enable us to plan, assign, monitor and report on peoples’ workloads and how they are coping. Alongside this, we’re offered a wide selection of excellent wellbeing initiatives e.g. guided meditations, fitness classes. We’re also assigned a buddy, so we can check-in with each other and there are a wide variety of personal development and wellbeing masterclasses on offer. These things were in place even before lockdown. Since lockdown, staff have been asked to suggest improvements and this resulted in a number of key wellbeing modules being quickly enhanced and refocused to better support full remote working and being delivered online. Everyone at Informed has valued and benefited from this support. If this post and review is genuine, I am very sorry you feel disappointed about your team leader and time at Informed. However, I cannot reconcile what you’ve said with the reality of 7+ years of working life at the company. We’re a medium sized business and most of us know each other even if we’ve not worked directly together, so it’s not like you can get completely lost within the company or nobody notices you, like you can within a huge corporation. For those reading this response that are thinking about joining us, I can personally tell you that you that my colleagues are great people and very smart, capable, supportive professionals. You can build a very rewarding career here, working at a growing international digital transformation consultancy that regularly wins leading industry awards. Please get in touch, and we can arrange for you to chat with me or any of the colleagues who actually work here. We’d be happy to explain what it’s like to experience Informed Solutions ‘in real life’.
