Instinct could be a great place to work, but the management style holds the team back. Feedback is not given in real time, which means employees don’t have the chance to adjust or improve before annual or semi-annual reviews. Instead, issues are saved up and delivered all at once, often resulting in surprise PIPs that feel completely out of left field.
Managers did not consistently hear both sides before making decisions, and favoritism played a large role in who was supported and who wasn’t. This creates a culture of uncertainty and distrust. Clearer communication, fairness, and actual coaching would go a long way toward improving the employee experience.
