Pros

- Wider Finance and business culture was calm and wasn't overbearing. People were nice and not overly pressured (so too the controls), considering it is a regulated industry - Relatively good relationship with Intact, the parent company - internal opportunities, if you play the game and are in the right circumstances

Cons

- Poor execution from transitioning to a large subsidiary function from being a corporate function, leaving the wider team vulnerable to unfair criticism. Further compounded by the new manager's lack of awareness on this. - Administrative/Operational-level processes weren't in a good state, resulting in unnecessary monetary losses - Vague oversight & lack of direction by new manager (director), especially in the early stages, so you didn't know where either party truly stood and simply going off assumptions or rolling with the punches. Not helped by their lack of experience in this area of Finance. - Poor long term planning & staff changes has led to various & continual staff & job responsibility changes

Pros

Great people, there is almost always someone there to help you when you have questions. They tend to usually work the schedule around other commitments that employees have except during during busy season

Cons

They do not pay attention to problems that arise between employees and management at times and sometimes management involves itself in the problem and makes it worst. They are not big on seniority as the company has fired people that have worked here for more then 8 years. And it's a very repetitive job with little to no chance of moving up in the company
