Business Outlook
Pros
Smart people, diverse projects. Historically heavy with SBIRs but diversifying, recently launched first commercial products. 25 consecutive years of growth, healthy backlog, etc. Research-heavy environment means a lot of flexibility during development.
Cons
Facilities cramped but plans for expansion within the calendar year. Heavy (but waning) dependence on SBIR means lots of work on proposals Can be a pressure cooker; not a place where it's easy to coast by. Need to be able to manage several high pressure projects simultaneously. They tend to skimp on workstation hardware or anything that isn't explicitly paid for by contracts. Bewilders that a "R&D company" doesn't have subscriptions to major journals.
