Pros

A little over a year ago, the meaning of Intelligent Shift to me meant a refuge from corporate greed typical around the beltway and a chance to work for people who, at the time, I thought cared about me, my family, and the goodwill among those at our company. I have been able to contribute to my customer's mission, get paid, and feel proud to support owners that I thought cared about me. I worked with some smart people My compensation wasn't bad, nor was it great The owners

Cons

The owners technically sold out and did not care to put action to the words they spoke. Employees are now beholden to a larger company 10x our size with a CEO that doesn't know anything about our people - he just knows our books and balance sheets. You have to be very careful dealing with the leadership at Intelligent Shift (referred to as MMA) because they will tell you one thing is the plan and then you find out in an email many months later that something very different was brewing all along. That said, you absolutely cannot them to have your best interests in mind. Looking back, everything I was told by the leaders seemed to be a ploy in a larger plan to cash out big from the hard work we provide to our customers without regard for actually doing anything for us who made it all possible for them.

Thanks for taking to the time to voice your concerns. We hope in the past three months you've seen the value and benefits of joining VTG. If not, please engage us directly so we can take action. For context to readers, just a few days before this post, we announced being acquired by VTG (link below). We appreciate all feedback and work to understand and address issues. To that end, we executed an anonymous employee survey in March where 86% said Intelligent Shift is still the BEST place for their career, 8% unsure and 6% said it was not. The survey results are nearly exact with past surveys. We see those results as positive, but work to do. We are taking steps to address all comments received. Intelligent Shift has been named a Best Place to Work every year we’ve been eligible. VTG was also a 2020 Best Place to work by the Washington Post. In fact in just the first quarter, employee salaries and benefits both went up/improved, including adding new benefits like fully paid life insurance for the first time. VTG felt it important to give more immediately with nothing cut. In our March survey, employees rated the new benefits an average of 5+ out of possible 6. VTG’s leadership has a long history working with our Government Agencies and they understand what it takes to attract and retain talent. They are already proving that with action. It’s why we selected VTG to help Intelligent Shift accelerate our growth. A final note- the reviewer gave 1 star to all categories. It’s important to address diversity specifically, as we are proud of our story. Our workforce is over 50% woman and/or minority. Those folks are in some of our top leadership jobs running lines of business and programs including several of our largest programs. Additionally, we have a special diversity initiative (rISe) that the NOVA Chamber of Commerce invited to brief their members last year. rISe has started multiple community projects to support disadvantaged communities and is focused on improving understanding across the company of issues facing our female and minority communities. Pros

Great management. It seems like they do care about you as an individual. The culture is also a plus. Not so stuffy. Plenty of opportunities to meet other people within in the company. Tons of happy hours and quarterly events. AND on top of all of that, the benefits are great & hours are flexible.

Cons

There’s not much that I don’t like about this company, but I would say better training opportunities and/or reimbursements.

Pros

As a member of a small group, I was nervous when our acquisition by VTG was announced. So far, everything is going well. My benefits (which I liked before) are even better. My management team has not changed and my job (which I love) has not changed either. Only upside so far. Thanks!

Cons

No cons to discuss. Everything is going well so far.

Thank you for the feedback. Culture is our number 1 priority and we look to our leadership and staff to help grow/maintain what we've built. Also thank you for specifically mentioning our focus on diversity. The group you mentioned has even briefed the NOVA Chamber of Commerce to share our approach.
