Pros

There is ample opportunity for work with some really visible clients. Intrepid has a very diverse clientele that stretches across a very broad range of industries. And though there is always some ebb and flow, if you prove your worth and are willing to be flexible, you'll get your chances. If you hide or simply wait for someone to ask, you may find yourself without work. Most of the people who work here are very upbeat and talented and though we have a hiearchy of management, etc. it is a pretty flat company, meaning you have access to the higher ups. Also, Intrepid is incredibly flexible with regards to where and when you work, as long as you are getting your work done. And while the pay and benefits are not the best in the region, the flexibility and PTO time (up to 6 weeks) make up for it.

Cons

The company is really just in its teens, meaning it still has some growing to do. Mistakes have been made during the time I've been here but we've learned from them and moved on. As we continue to grow, I'm sure we'll make more mistakes which is unfortunate but I've seen a lot of effort put into becoming a more scalable company focused on smarter growth.

Pros

Great opportunity to do meaningful work with clients and grow your skills. In addition to serving current clients well, Intrepid has attracted some amazing new outsourcing clients (including top tech companies) in the last year, AND has built an awesome new learning technology product that combines social, collaborative & short-form learning. Great outcome for the company (people, clients, etc.) with the sale of the services business to Xerox, and launch of the tech business as a new company!

Cons

As a smaller company, at times there have been limits to the ability to advance to the next level--the Xerox acquisition addresses that for the outsourcing and professional services team members.

Pros

Flexible work schedules. Ability to work from home. Unfortunately, that's about it.

Cons

Stunningly unethical behavior on the part of senior managers. Many, many good people have left this company with a bad taste in their mouths. Sadly, Sam Herring is a figurehead and a "golden boy" who gives good speeches - but he is not the right person to lead a company, under any circumstances. There's been a revolving door of leaders for years. You're promised much more than you're given. Some of the unethical behavior is stunning in its transparency and audacity. Hard to believe Madrona backed this company and yet did not provide proper management oversight.
