Pros
- Free Food.
- Develop customer service and leadership skills.
- Owners and managers are nice when needed.
- Flexible schedule.
- Overstaffed team, always time to take personal time and/or breaks repeatedly.
- Late time is accepted, staff can come in when needed.
Cons
- Micromanaging by owners, not enough from the managers. High expectations for shift leaders.
- Staff have confusion with authority; those who hold the title tend to do less than those who should not be depended on, mostly.
- Many are underqualified to work there; most of the time, you have to work around it. (entry-level job, but some lack common sense and/or basic abilities/have substance abuse issues)
- No parking, have to pay street parking. ($25-$30 a day for a complete 8-hour shift)
- Hours can be inconsistent without any notice. Overhire during the wrong time.
- Insults are normalized by higher-ups and some staff.
- Communication issues between staff most of the time. Managers tend to step back when they are really needed.
- Can be unsanitary, even when higher-ups are notified. Building manager lacks ability.
- Family-intoxicated portion of the staff, can be bias at times.
- Expectations do not stay the same for every single employee.
- Store is rarely stocked and/or maintained properly.
