Pros

At Jimdo, there is some opportunity to work across different teams, which can help build diverse skill sets. However, this is overshadowed by the many challenges I faced there.

Cons

I worked with this company for three years and saw five different leaders come and go—either quitting or being fired. That kind of turnover speaks for itself. There was no stability, no long-term vision, and no real investment in the people doing the work. At one point, the entire marketing department was laid off in one sweep, only for the company to rebuild the team again afterward. Leadership was inconsistent at best and dismissive at worst, often leaving employees in the dark about shifting priorities. When work slowed down or responsibilities changed, there was little to no communication, and any concerns were met with vague, condescending responses. If you’re looking for a workplace with strong leadership, clear direction, and respect for employees, I’d strongly reconsider.

Dear former Jimdoer, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us—the positives as well as the challenges. We appreciate your honesty and the years you dedicated to Jimdo. It’s great to hear that you benefited from opportunities to collaborate across teams and build diverse skill sets. Cross-functional teamwork is something we value and strive to foster at Jimdo. As you probably remember, one of our core values is "We deliver as a team," and we truly believe in the power of collaboration! At the same time, we hear you—leadership changes and team restructures can create uncertainty, and we recognize that consistency and clear communication are essential for a positive work environment. At Jimdo, we’ve had to make changes in order to serve our customers best as we evolve in response to market challenges and shifts in the external environment. Change is the only constant, and we do require a high degree of agility in our teams and leadership. Many Jimdoers find the opportunity to work with different leaders and teams refreshing and crucial for their personal development. Regarding turnover, our voluntary turnover was a mere 8% in 2024, which is far below market standard. We set high expectations for both performance and alignment with our company values. Involuntary turnover was largely driven by employees who do not live our company values and/or who are not performing and thus are letting their teams down, so we owe it to our teams to proactively deal with these situations. Over the past year, we’ve been focused on improving leadership consistency, strengthening communication, and ensuring that when changes happen, they are handled with transparency and respect. We still have work to do, but we are committed to making Jimdo a place where employees feel supported, recognized, and empowered in their roles. Your feedback is a valuable reminder of where we need to continue improving, and we truly appreciate it. We wish you the best in your next chapter and thank you again for your contributions to Jimdo.

Pros

Jimdo is a place filled with talented, dedicated people who are myopically focused on achieving their mission of helping their customers be successful. If you're a person looking to learn new skills, take on additional responsibility, be challenged by complex projects and develop your career, this is THE place for you to be. Additionally, Jimdo is incredibly flexible and treats their employees like humans, values diversity, asks for employee's opinions, is super transparent and invests in their employee's development.

Cons

Jimdo is in a period of transition and change (almost all for the better). However, you have to know that, and want that. As examples, policies evolve, new people are hired, new products are always launched, tests occur constantly, etc. If you are looking for a place that will allow you to skate by without hard work, this is NOT the place for you.
