Pros
The people on the front lines are the heart of this company. Despite the chaos at the top, the individual contributors; engineers, designers, product folks, support teams; are smart, dedicated, and incredibly collaborative. There’s a real sense of camaraderie among the people doing the actual work, and many go above and beyond to keep things afloat. Sadly, the people who remain are looking for jobs and are in survival mode for the most part.
Cons
Over the past few years, this company has gone from having hundreds of employees to fewer than 60, a staggering decline that reflects the state of Jobcase. The root of the problem is clear: leadership. There is no vision, no strategy, they completely change direction at least monthly. Key decisions are made far too late (if at all), and what little direction exists is reactionary and out of touch. They do all hands meetings where the CEO shares his opinions and engages in all kinds of spin. It is hard to decide if he would be better suited as a politician or a used car salesman. While competitors have been innovating and delivering AI-driven solutions at a rapid pace, this company has struggled to define even the most basic roadmap. Their AI efforts, which are touted internally as the “future,” are embarrassingly behind the curve. Jobcase AI is months, if not years, behind what others in the market have already delivered. Everyone is trying to put lipstick on the pig, but no one is buying it. A leadership change a year ago might have salvaged something. At this point it feels like too little, too late. Morale is low, the products are failing, and talented people are leaving or have already left. The end appears to be inevitable.
