Pros

Working at KKR, you have the opportunity to grow your career to your desired level. If you are willing to put in the time, you see the results. It is a fast paced environment with low supervision. You control your own destiny. If you just do what you’re told, then you will get by. If you go above and beyond, then you have endless opportunity. There is no agism whatsoever. If you’re 27 and have been grinding, you can be a director. If you’re 55 and you just slide by, you might still be an analyst. Has all the energy you would expect from a PE firm ran by a relatively small headcount.

Cons

For the amount of earnings/headcount, they are surprising stingy when it comes to expenses. The partner pay is unbelievable. There is definitely a “wage-gap” feeling where it is hard to hear partners talk about reducing expenses when their salaries will go up 20% YoY on a bad year.

Pros

Nice office, free lunch, still prestigious

Cons

The technology leadership since 2025 has failed to improve the relationship with operational and finance stakeholders, to state a coherent strategy for their division, or to show any sort of consistent policy beyond hiring their buddies from previous jobs. They don’t seem to understand how technology is evolving despite constantly hyping up AI. They have failed to fulfill their promises on improving the experience for business and support stakeholders. The merger with Global Atlantic has been catastrophic. Decision making appears based more on politics than competence. On benefits - changed health insurance providers twice in two years.
