Pros

Opportunity to work with the latest technology.

Cons

CEO and COO are way in over their heads in running a company of this size. Their egos and experience get in the way of almost every decision they make. I worked arm and arm with them for close to 10 years in a senior level capacity, including as a member of the Executive Committee. While the CEO still has a remnant of the vision he once had, the COO’s passion is only to see how much control he can effect throughout the company, regardless of whether it’s effective or not. Their attitudes and personalities permeate the entire company leading to massive distrust and low morale.

"An entrepreneur is someone who jumps off a cliff and builds a plane on the way down.” -Reid Hoffman. As a member of the executive leadership team, I have a front row seat to the complexity of running a company. There are always new challenges, like the current pandemic, that constantly pose challenges we must navigate and address. The CEO’s passion DOES and should permeate the entire company and is often the fuel that inspires us to extraordinary pursuits. The COO’s responsibility IS to affect change throughout the company. And you are correct, it is not always effective. We don’t always get it right, but everything we do comes from a place of sincerity, our intent to serve those around us and with the purpose of building a more people-centric sustainable organization. It is the responsibility of senior leadership to translate the vision to the team and align them to company policies. Distrust and low morale are often a product of when there is a disconnect and ambiguity. We are proud of the strategies, programs, and initiatives that have gotten us to this stage over 37 years, sustained the company though a pandemic, and positioned us as a leader in the industry today. Pros

Management USED TO care about their employees Coworkers were nice

Cons

Awful management that doesn’t care about anything other than the numbers. You’re sick? Family emergency? Doing the work of 5 people all by yourself? You’ll be told to “just get over it”. You won’t get paid a living wage. Very little opportunity for career advancement. Just a toxic work culture in general.
