Pros

Great start-up culture with young humble founders who have a strong sense of doing the best they can to build a great company. There are no crazy ego's or psychopathic founders here. Labelbox makes a big effort to hire smart balanced people who simply are not jerks. There is no politics and no toxic culture so often in high growth companies. Everyone is there to help and there is a strong sense of determination to be the best in the market and grow the business into something very special. Despite young founders, they have been smart to hire experienced dynamic senior management across the company. So it's no kindergarten but rather a good balance of move fast, be smart and no BS. Sales has a very strong voice in the business pushing for high performance but without the negativity so often a strong sales culture can bring. The product is amazing and real, it's market-leading and customers love it. The potential in the market is fantastic and there is genuinely almost overwhelming opportunity in the market. It’s still a young company so there are loads of gaps but as they get filled they will dominate their industry. Having great VC backers, strong product, great vision, smart cool focused people and a great culture of determination and achievement, the writing is on the wall for the next big AI success story.

Cons

It's a young company so loads of gaps which is expected. It's not a place for people who want things done for them or needing loads of structure. It's a high energy creative space.

Pros

Strong peers at the IC level who are capable, thoughtful, and committed to doing good work

Cons

The biggest issue is leadership. In my experience, middle management and executive leadership create more friction than clarity. Projects often become slower and more complicated because of unclear direction, shifting priorities, and layers of process that do not appear to improve outcomes. There is a serious lack of strategic vision, especially around AI. The company talks about important opportunities, but the execution does not match the ambition. Much of the burden falls on deployed engineers and ICs, while leadership does not provide the clarity, ownership, or support needed to make the work successful. The culture also feels unhealthy. Work-life balance is poor, expectations are often unreasonable, and blame tends to move downward. Employees can feel disposable rather than valued, and leadership does not seem meaningfully concerned about churn or morale. I would strongly encourage anyone considering an offer to speak privately with current or former employees first. My experience has aligned closely with many of the negative reviews I read before joining.
