Pros

Very few. Rent discount wasn’t even that great.

Cons

Staff are overloaded with tasks/responsibilities. They squeeze every bit out of the employees and expect little work-life balance. Their cultish practices like reciting the mission statement every morning is weird and creepy, especially given that they do not live up to that mission. Integrity? Give me a break. There’s no integrity there - the company is out to fleece the residents for every penny they have. They forced staff to use a predatory sales technique. Too many times did kids and parents not know what they were getting into. They also dishonestly inflated occupancy numbers during a sale of a property. They were negotiating said sale in bad faith. They are a huge contributor to the student loan crisis given a large amount of residents were relying on loans or financial aid to afford to live at their locations. Landmark is a fundamentally dishonest and unethical company, using the guise of corporate rah rah nonsense to cover up their main goal: squeeze every penny out of the residents and then sell the properties to new investors.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad to hear you found this to be a positive opportunity for college students, as we strive to provide flexible roles that support both academic and professional development. We also recognize that working in student housing can involve engaging with a variety of stakeholders, including parents and guarantors, which can sometimes be challenging. Strong communication and customer service are an important part of these roles, and we aim to support our teams in navigating those interactions professionally and effectively
