Pros
The job itself is great. Very similiar to the nuclear navy with taking readings and running water tests. I've now have experience with micro filtration units, reverse osmosis units and the use of industrial chemicals used in boilers among many other things as well
Cons
The manager and instrument tech treat me like I'm stupid, talk down to me and generally dont care about me or any of the operators here. My hard work is unappreciated and not even recognized. They have unrealistic expectations and the training is a joke. I feel this place is unsafe and under manned. Major issues are ignored when pointed out. Or they postpone shutdowns for repairs that are very serious. Safety features are bypassed to keep the plants running. Fire new years eve 2010. I was there during the fire. This applies to the lemont IL location only.
