Pros

-Screenings in the theater are fun -Learn about the entertainment industry

Cons

The anguish and distress this company brings to most of its employees is unbearable. Favoritism runs DEEP here. You’re not guaranteed to be a “favorite” through hard work and a positive attitude. If you’re not chosen a “favorite”, you’re doomed to never be promoted or even recognized for the blood, sweat, and tears you put into your job. The management at all levels is bad. Major “re-orgs” happen more often than they should (this includes pre-covid times as well). Nobody ever knows what is expected of them at any level, because no one ever officially rewrites the job descriptions after each restructure. It’s every man/woman for themselves - re-orgs create a very vicious culture. It’s quite evident that restructures happen so often due to the fact that senior leadership does not think things through before pulling the trigger. Lionsgate hires “leaders” solely based on their entertainment knowledge/skills, and not at all on their managerial skills or personalities. A lot of leaders do NOT know how to lead. There is very minimal diversity at this company. Lionsgate is one of the lowest paying studios out there. Your time is better spent applying to another job where you get the pay you deserve. If you come to HR with an issue, they have a track record of trying to sweep things under the rug. You’ll hear “entrepreneurial spirit”, but it’s purely lip service. People are afraid to give honest feedback to executives. It’s pure chaos. It’s just not worth it.

Pros

The motion picture department I worked with was great. Very helpful and professional. I learned a lot.

Cons

The HR department is so petty. The SR Manager of Talent Acquisition, in particular, is so immature. Resentful of those who don't work in HR. The HR department in total is toxic and bitter, and resentful of those who don't have to work in HR because we took the initiative to develop our skills outside of working in HR.
