Pros

MSC (now Phenomenon Detroit) creates and extraordinary environment in which to learn and grow as a marketing professional. The clients are diverse and interesting. The work is challenging. And the pace of growth is incredible. Also, the team is a ton of fun. Everyone has each others backs and everyone gets the opportunity to contribute and shape the strategies and work that drive growth for their clients. It's a an awesome place to be if you want something challenging. Also, leadership takes care to ensure everyone maintains an acceptable work-life balance.

Cons

It's not necessarily a con, but if you're looking for a relaxed, low volume of work kind of place, then this is not the place for you. The team and company leaders have ambitious goals. The work can be intense, but the leadership team works hard to reward your effort.

Pros

Learned a lot from Michael, who’s the only reason the company is still surviving. Only accept an offer if you get a chance to work directly with him because you’ll not only gain real world skills, but also benefit from his industry experience.

Cons

The owner berates and belittles employees every day. He hones in on one target every few months, makes this person’s life so miserable that they end up leaving or end up getting fired. The only reason MSC is still in business is because they got lucky hiring the one right person mentioned in the pros. Other than that, no one at MSC has the skills needed to do any marketing work. Employee churn rate is immensely high.
