Pros
Access to insurance could be a pro I guess
Cons
I joined Massive Bio with high hopes, inspired by the company's mission and the promise of working in an innovative, patient-focused environment. Unfortunately, the reality fell far short of expectations. Throughout my tenure, I consistently witnessed a lack of transparency, leadership, and support from executive management. Important decisions were made behind closed doors with little communication or clarity. Employees were often kept in the dark, and when feedback was given, it was more demoralizing than constructive. One of the most troubling aspects of the culture was the consistent disregard for personal time and well-being. Long, unnecessary meetings were routinely scheduled, even on weekends and after hours, with little concern for employees' personal or family commitments. This expectation led to burnout and heavy resentment among even the most dedicated team members. While the company publicly promotes values like compassion, innovation, and collaboration, my experience did not reflect those principles. It is not obvious to me that these core values are more than marketing buzzwords designed to project an image that does not match the lived experiences of employees. Berating employees, fostering a culture of back-channel conversations, and an utter lack of appreciation for hard work were far too common. To be fair, the mission of Massive Bio is important, and there are talented, dedicated people working hard despite the environment. However, the gap between leadership’s actions and the company’s stated values is significant and damaging. Without a meaningful investment in leadership accountability, employee support, and internal culture, these issues will continue to undermine the company's potential.
