Pros

Good competitive wages 9-5 job (management kept on telling me that you will finish at 6-7 pm everyday) so you will be working extra for no extra pay

Cons

I joined this company through an employment agency. This is a very dicey job where you work with the government to stop benefits for disabled people. You learn the rules required to do the CUT and make sure that people don't receive their benefits. You will be cursed by these vulnerable disabled people. The training was of appalling standard where you will feel that they are behaving to you like you were in a third world jail. Out of 8, 2 people walked out of training. We had 4 trainers changed so that they can hammer each trainees. Their aim is to pressurize the trainees to leave the course so that they dont have to train them, they only need people who can learn quickly. No patience, bullying mentality, lot of power in their hands. Blame culture which is rife in the company. Management always blames the assessor, you will have blaming culture every day, hour and second of your job.

Pros

Had a few really exceptional coworkers

Cons

One reason I was hired was to bring in new ideas and work approaches; however, when I tried implementing anything new, some of the “old school higher-ups” would balk and were never open to anything new or better. My management just looked the other way and didn’t support me. As for training, I wasn’t offered much in the way of onboarding other than being told to read a lengthy “standard operating procedures” document. No real opportunities were offered to shadow anyone so I could learn in real-time. A typical work week was 60+ hours and often stretched to 70+. It was exhausting and demoralizing. The job was not sustainable and I’ve never been more relieved to be done with a place. I cannot recommend Maximus as a place to grow your skills or to give your time. Turnover seems to be relatively high at Maximus and there are far better places to work.
