Pros

It is a job that a monkey could do because it is so easy. They do not require intelligent people and the job is just the same thing over and over again. Everyone had their own cubicle that was always theirs and the training classes were easy and fun sometimes.

Cons

You have to talk on the phone all day. They are not understanding when you are sick and require you to go to the doctor to get a pass when you are sick for three days even though they don't give you any kind of insurance. They are anal with monitoring people and have no real faith in their employees to do a good job without the threat of being monitored and failing.

Had a few really exceptional coworkers

One reason I was hired was to bring in new ideas and work approaches; however, when I tried implementing anything new, some of the “old school higher-ups” would balk and were never open to anything new or better. My management just looked the other way and didn’t support me. As for training, I wasn’t offered much in the way of onboarding other than being told to read a lengthy “standard operating procedures” document. No real opportunities were offered to shadow anyone so I could learn in real-time. A typical work week was 60+ hours and often stretched to 70+. It was exhausting and demoralizing. The job was not sustainable and I’ve never been more relieved to be done with a place. I cannot recommend Maximus as a place to grow your skills or to give your time. Turnover seems to be relatively high at Maximus and there are far better places to work.
