Pros

Flexible time off, good training, good supervisors and managers, Free heath insurance, 401k w matching, 2 weeks paid time off, sick paid leave, work from home (atleast for my position), only 25 to 40 interactions a day. I work in Webchat, minimal phone time.

Cons

Call Center environment. Low pay. You will work phones as a new hire. Can be stressful until you learn everything.

Pros

Had a few really exceptional coworkers

Cons

One reason I was hired was to bring in new ideas and work approaches; however, when I tried implementing anything new, some of the “old school higher-ups” would balk and were never open to anything new or better. My management just looked the other way and didn’t support me. As for training, I wasn’t offered much in the way of onboarding other than being told to read a lengthy “standard operating procedures” document. No real opportunities were offered to shadow anyone so I could learn in real-time. A typical work week was 60+ hours and often stretched to 70+. It was exhausting and demoralizing. The job was not sustainable and I’ve never been more relieved to be done with a place. I cannot recommend Maximus as a place to grow your skills or to give your time. Turnover seems to be relatively high at Maximus and there are far better places to work.
