Pros

Everyone has a say in the company and there is total transparency in what is going on - from marketing to PR, from sales to recruiting to engineer. You definitely feel like you're an owner of the company and it's very rewarding to see your work have high impact.

Cons

The office space is a little cramped for our growing company, but we will be moving as of February, 2015 to a bigger space. Sometimes it can be stressful because of the high impact you have.

Pros

Colleagues are smart, driven, down-to-earth, and genuinely excited about the product (which is genuinely really cool and worth getting excited over). There's a strong culture of respect, transparency, and accountability here, with cross-team communication and collaboration. The working environment is friendly and focused; the office tends towards the quiet side, but people are down for a laugh or a quick break at the Scrabble board. The office is comfortable, BART-accessible, and filled with natural light and yummy snacks. Expect Labs is growing but is still at a size where there are plenty of opportunities to step in and take leadership on projects.

Cons

Honestly, this is a great place to work. I can't think of significant cons.

Pros

Voice-driven functionality inside applications is in high demand, and this company seems well-positioned to grow a huge business around this opportunity. The energy of the team and sense of ownership that people have (there are no unimportant projects) make for a great atmosphere to be a part of every day at the office. In addition, even though the team is still small, it's diverse. At some startups, it feels like the existing employees are hiring people who have a social/cultural/demographic background very similar to them; here, it feels like there's a wide breadth of perspectives and each person's interests and personality shape the overall culture of the company.

Cons

The team needs to grow fast to keep up with the opportunity. In the mean time, there are some cool projects that might get delayed due to bandwidth.
