Pros

Smart people who love what they do.

Cons

Even though all roles are remote, they require you to track every minute of your day in an in-house time tracking system, even if you are not client facing. Low pay Not much room for growth as they keep everyone as contractors They used to require current employees write a Glassdoor review and submit it to the HR/ops team; then before the company would post it, would review it to make sure it was positive.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We really appreciate it! As a digital agency that has a focus on both internal and client facing work, it is important to the team that hours are tracked in our internal time tracking system. This helps us learn and grow in our working estimates and forecasting, stay on budget for client projects, and to ensure that hourly staff are paid. That said, full time employees are not required to clock internal or overhead time in the same way. At times, there is project work that is required to be tracked but there is not an expectation to clock all the time worked in a given week. If someone can clock all their time, that’s amazing, but is not a requirement. Most team members working for Modern Tribe are full time employees with the opportunity to grow into more senior and lead level positions across the technical disciplines within the organization. At times, there is also the opportunity for advancement within the StellarWP brand ecosystem or the broader LiquidWeb organization. Glassdoor reviews are incredibly helpful to those looking to join Modern Tribe and to our employer brand. We do ask team members for feedback at various stages of the employment lifecycle, but never require that team members submit for approval or review before posting. Feedback is important to helping us grow as a company and to be a place where people want to work. We appreciate when people take the time to offer it up…and we thank you for taking the time to provide yours as well. We welcome the opportunity to improve in those areas where we can do better, and we will continue to seek ways to improve our time tracking experience.

Pros

Work from anywhere! Many of us take full advantage of the flexibility that our remote work provides - we even have a dedicated Slack channel where we post pictures of our daily "office". Some examples include the family cabin on the lake and a cafe in Prague. Excellent team. Even though we are remote (we do all meet up once a year for an epic team trip in an exotic location), many of us have become "real world" friends. The "environment" at work is a perfect combination of professionalism and friendliness. From my first day, everyone I have worked with has been happy to help me out whenever I needed it. I can honestly say that I have fun working with this crew every day. Opportunities to learn. If you have something to contribute, they generally are happy to let you run with it and help you see it through. I personally have been able to do a wide variety of things that I was interested in (in addition to the role I was hired for), which certainly helps to keep things interesting on a day to day basis. The experience and skills that I have gained will be so helpful to me in the future. Management is fantastic. The "higher ups" are always there to support you and help you grow, but there isn't a problem with micromanagement as I have experienced with other companies in the past.

Cons

I really don't have anything negative to say. Others have mentioned not getting benefits, but I would much rather work at a job I love than at an OK job that offers benefits.
