Pros

Please read many other 1-star reviews and my cons here. They are all true. No amount of pros is worth your time here. Many employees have to seek professional help from therapists to recover their mental health. The VPs of product literally made half of the team CRY on the spot during 1:1s with them. I know at least 3 people cried. This is not because they are weak (they are not weak, they are strong and top performers!), but because they did not do exactly what the leadership asked even if what they asked were non-sense and lack of any product sense, then leadership team gaslights you, yells at you, and makes you think you are worthless. While they yell at you, they claim "I am giving you feedback for your own good". After a while, you will wonder: Am I building the right product? Am I here just for the salary so I have to fake a smile to the immature leadership whom you are disgusted by? Is this right to see your colleagues being treated this way? And the answer is no, it is not right. Our dignity and mental health are worth more than this.

Cons

I have never seen a leadership team who can be so cruel, rude, lack of real skills, bullying, gaslighting, backstabbing, and discriminating against their employees. The top product leadership team (CPO and VPs of product) does not have any prior product experience if you look at their LinkedIn profiles closely - hear me out: I am not discriminating against people who do not have prior product experience. No prior experience is not a problem at all. If you can do products well without any prior experience, we respect you and admire you even more. However, that is not the case here. The product leadership team literally comes out with random ideas every day and won't listen to any employees who try to give them valid product advice but are not part of the leadership team. The product leadership team constantly throws immature ideas on the wall and sees which one sticks. They change their mind on product ideas every week (actually almost every day) and then if you don't do what they say, they would call you at night (direct call without a meeting appointment) and yell at you for hours. After the products are launched and if the results are not good, they will blame you and make you think it's always your fault. When someone makes a mistake, they literally write a long message to the team slack group and tag @all saying: “You are underperforming, if you can not make this work, you do not belong here at MoonPay.” Every week, there is someone disappearing from the company system without any notice, including many top performers. These people are not fired because of performance, but simply because they are not yes men, or leadership does not like them. Then the leadership team holds a group meeting after firing people and says something like this in the meeting: “We are excited about the change and let’s celebrate the future”. Everyone else was like “wow”. One of the product leaders literally claps his hands to get everyone’s attention. Our previous beloved COO, CTO, and many other colleagues all left or were pushed out after only a few months because they advocated for a kind and caring culture, and wanted to build the right product (not the immature product ideas being told by leadership). For the 5-star reviews, they are likely written by the leadership team, in order to save the rating. They constantly report to Glassdoor and ask Glassdoor to remove 1-star reviews. I know this because many of my colleagues’ 1-star reviews are removed and the leadership team talks about saving the rating in the company all hands. Oh additionally, one small thing to show the character of the leadership team: VPs of product never join meetings that come from team members that are below them. They only join C-level meetings. They would accept your meetings, but they would either no show, or show up late for 25 minutes. This happens every single time when someone below them has a meeting with them. They do this to their direct reports too. They claim they are busy. If you check their calendar, they are not busy. They simply do not respect people's time nor respect people.

Pros

Working with friendly and super smart people who actually enjoy working together and push each other to be the best. Remote flexibility is real, and leadership trusts and expects you to deliver, giving you a lot of autonomy and ownership. From your first day you're able to take on meaningful which means growth is real and happens quickly. AI is also huge part of how we work and you're given all the latest tools to use and trusted to use it to do your best work in a way I haven't seen anywhere else.

Cons

Not necessarily a con, but the pace is very fast which means it is not for everyone. But if you like having ownership and driving real things forward this is the place to be.

Pros

MoonPay has brought together genuinely talented, down-to-earth people. The culture doesn't feel like your typical FinTech — it's collaborative and refreshing. On top of that, the office perks are solid: free lunches, breakfast and treats throughout the week, regular happy hours (including rooftop events), and community service opportunities. As it is still in the early stages of becoming a major company I can only imagine that the perks and office culture will only get better and better.

Cons

Pace is definitely something to highlight. Genuinely a "move fast and break things" mentality which can be hard for people who are used to a more structured, slower, casual pace. Trying to keep up and truly understanding the culture of MoonPay is the hardest part of working here. But I do think that working 1 year here can prepare you to work and thrive anywhere else. It's like a bootcaamp- it truly pushes you to your limit which in turn makes you a stronger professionally and sharper mentally. So if you're looking for innovation, the opportunity to voice ideas and make them a reality, and to push yourself to your limits you'll fit right in.
