Pros

Supporting young people is rewarding Some colleagues are great - supportive, driven and work well as a team Some flexibility Goood training/cpd (but not progression)

Cons

As others have said management is problematic in a number of ways, particularly micromanagement. I've seen bias within the organisation/team. I've felt overworked at times and the true value of work isn't reflected in pay. Pay varies among people doing the same job. You can clock up a lot of TOIL but taking this off leads to a cycle of playing catch-up. If they had to pay overtime they might have more realistic and better thought-out expectations. Little opportunities for progression especially for BAME staff. Seems to always be cutting jobs/restructuring.
