Pros

Middle tier employees are generally fun to work and collaborate with.

Cons

They do not care about you as an employee; you are there to make them money. After requesting a modified work schedule to better align with a medical condition, I was told, “Sometimes business decisions are more important than personal decisions.” Compensation. You have to fight to ensure you’re paid according to your bonus structure, and even when you get paid, it will be late. Upper management creates a hostile work environment. The level of micromanagement and disrespect is something almost every single employee secretly complains about because bringing it up only leads to retaliation.

In 20 years, we've never missed a payroll. We've paid our bonuses in total when they've been earned. Our vendors continue to work with us because we are a good customer on stable financial footing. It doesn't sound like your time here was spent in Finance or Accounting so I'm not sure where this is coming from. If by 'fighting' for compensation, that means we ask our staff to ensure they are doing the necessary research to understand their skill sets and what the employment market is for those positions, then yes, that is what we do. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your time here, it always sucks for me to read these kinds of reviews because it's the OPPOSITE of the experience which I want our staff to have here and the culture that we've been building. A culture of self-direction, autonomy, fair compensation and opportunities for professional advancement. I hope you find a better fit and great success in your future endeavors and thank you for the time you put in here. I'm sure it was with the best of intentions and effort and it's unfortunate it didn't work out for either of us. - R

Pros

The people here are the real differentiator. It's a talented, passionate group that shows up for each other and brings their best every day. There's a genuine culture of feedback and professional development that pushes you to grow continuously. You're never just a number. You can see your direct impact on the business and are given real autonomy and visibility to help shape and scale both the company and the product.

Cons

Small, scrappy startup energy isn't for everyone. Plans change and priorities shift, so if you need a lot of structure and predictability, it may not be the right fit. But if you want to see your work matter and be rewarded for it, that tradeoff is absolutely worth it.
