Pros

There was a ton of energy heading into 2023, with a plan to take share from their largest competitor. To accomplish that, OneSpan went on a hiring spree, especially for enterprise sellers and SDRs. Those of us that started during that time were sold on a three year plan with 2023 being a year of pipeline growth and sales. So a lot of good and talented people were hired and the buzz was strong.

Cons

OneSpan pivoted from their plan and laid off most of who they hired at the beginning of the year. Top line growth was no longer the top priority and the company shifted to a profit margin focus- which means a lot of people were let go. Despite being laid off, I'm not bitter at OneSpan- these things happen. I would just warn others that are looking for a solid employer to look elsewhere. If top line growth is not the priority, then more lay offs might be on the horizon and career growth will be limited. It just feels like a business without a rudder.

Pros

Remote work is amazing, and there is a lot of flexibility at OneSpan, as well as a lot of freedom to improve the company. If you have an idea, and you want to try and make it happen, they will let you. You may not get all of the resources that you need, but you will be given the opportunity to at least try it on your own.

Cons

Not sure the company is heading down the right path, and with all of the options available in the cybersecurity world, OneSpan is one 2008 banking crisis from getting hurt...bad. Its also pretty stagnant, and people tend to stay employed there for a very long time (which could also be a pro, not a con).
