Pros

The culture at Opportune is one of the best parts of working here. It's supportive, extremely collaborative, and actually fun. People care about each other and celebrate each other’s wins. There are tons of opportunities to connect with others across the firm, from formal networking events like happy hours, conferences, and cross-functional meetings to informal moments like our twice-weekly office lunches and hallway conversations. It feels natural to build relationships here, and those relationships make work feel meaningful and energizing. It's the kind of place where you actually want to come to work. One of the best things about Opportune, and something I see every day, is how directly those who are just starting their careers get to work with leadership. At other big companies, you might never get face time with senior leaders, but here they’re in the trenches with teams daily, mentoring and listening. That makes a huge difference in how supported people feel and how quickly they grow. With that said, there is so much room to grow here if you want it. If you speak up, ask questions, and raise your hand for more, you will absolutely be met with encouragement, guidance, and opportunity. People want to see you succeed and they will go out of their way to help you do it. Another major plus is the work-life balance. You are trusted to do great work, and still have a life outside of it. People respect your time and your boundaries, which is rare.

Cons

Things can get busy during peak periods, but the teamwork and communication make it manageable.
