Pros

You'll probably get the chance to work on some projects that help you grow

Cons

When I worked at OptfinITy, I often considered living in my car. I couldn't afford to support myself on the meager salary. The CEO of this startup, Michael D., doesn't give his employees sick time, at least not while I was working there. We had to use our own PTO. I only accrued 3 hours of PTO for every 80 hours worked and couldn't afford to take a day off. He also didn't let me have a 401k unless I worked at the company for a year or longer. It really set me back financially. If you care about being treated with dignity and making a living wage, working at OptfinITy is not the place for you

For at least the past 10 years, every employee who is hired at Optfinity is hired on a training and probationary period of 90 days. During this training and probationary period, employees do not receive any benefits beyond paid holidays plus their salary. Upon completing the probationary period, All employees receive a signing bonus, paid sick time, 2 weeks of paid vacation that increases over time, health insurance and dental insurance. After one year of employment, all employees are able to partake in a matching retirement plan. The fact that this employee did not have these benefits means that this employee was unable to get past the probationary period. In terms of salary, we utilize Glassdoor to find salaries that are competitive based on the job type and the years of experience. Someone with one to two years of experience just out of school is not going to get paid the same as someone who has 10 years of experience despite having the same job title.
