I was initially reached out by the owner of the company and he didn’t state the company in the email but he was very critical of me having short term employment which was due to having two temp positions post grad and being laid off. I didn’t really appreciate how the email was worded as it was very obvious that I was being judged given he said “there are a lot of short term jobs you have held, which presents concern when it comes to employment stability.” I responded explaining that it’s because two of those positions were temp positions which is typically a 3 month contract, and that I had been laid off from my last job. Luckily he did decide to do a phone screening and I was brought in for the interview with the team. The in person interview was pretty straightforward and a good experience, however I did get ghosted. My main feedback is to be a little less critical of applicants who may not have much long term experience as often times that’s not something they wanted for themselves, and please don’t ghost applicants as they should be aware of rejections as well.
