Pros

I started at OSLP in 2015, and realized quickly that I had found a company I wanted to stay with for a long time. Benefits, ETO, helping people. Making art for work! I was sold as a DSP. From there, I advanced and am now a program manager for one of the programs. I love it here, and will be staying around even with the pay. I could make more money going to a different company, but at another company I'm not going to have the feeling of connection and care that I do here. The agency as a whole is welcoming and bright with limited internal drama and politics. There is transparency from top to bottom, and high expectation for professionalism. The turn over rate for DSPs is very high, because the job isn't easy and the money isn't good, however the longevity of people who do find their niche here is very often 10+ years. It's not an easy job, but it is one that really ends up being a calling for lots of people. Assisting and supporting people to live their best life is actually pretty awesome. You should try it if you aren't sure what to do with your life. You might love it. I know I did.

Cons

low wages for the work required, but this is an industry issue not a OSLP issue. DSPs everywhere are chronically underpaid. Starting wage is like $12/hr or something close to that, and being a DSP is worth $15 at least.

Pros

Supportive staff and admin, excellent benefits, flexible schedule, and competitive pay

Cons

Clients are living with the program and will frequently stay until they pass away, which is hard to deal with. Many people in our community have no idea what OSLP does.

Pros

Had great benefits, recently dental and vision offered

Cons

Managers, directors and admins don't care about the DSPs, low pay, poor communication, make decisions based on gossip and opinions as opposed to facts.
