Pros
-Audit department is close-knit and supportive. Managers, partners and senior managers genuinely want you to succeed and will go out of their way to provide guidance to new associates. A welcoming environment largely devoid of petty office politics/drama. -Busy season hours and overall workload are more realistic than a lot of other CPA firms. It’s still public accounting at the end of the day, but coming from Big 4 it will be a refreshing change of pace. -Pay and benefits are competitive to firms of similar sizes, especially when you account for the better work/life balance.
Cons
-Client base is mostly healthcare. May be a con for somebody wanting a variety of client industry exposure. -The main busy season is summer July - September, though you can be busy Jan - March as well. -15 days of vacation is on the low end for public accounting, but on the bright side you will be able to (actually you are expected to) use it all each year.
