Pros

Despite all the issues listed below, the business is still chugging along & seemingly financially healthy (after all of the endless cost cutting).

Cons

Pantheon is a shining example in how not to run a company. - 3 rounds of layoffs - ENDLESS leadership turnover in all departments, only to seemingly hire worst leaders each time - Haven't shipped a new product feature in years - Core product functionality is broken - $200M in raised capital - with no growth - ZERO direction, ultimate goal or North Star - Chief People Officer now in charge of the entire Sales & Customer Success orgs (as if that will end well..) - 90% of sales org has quit in the past 3 months And somehow through all of that, the CEO is still at the helm... If you're thinking about joining, do yourself a favor & don't!

Pantheon Systems Response

"This is a real review!" (Jan 18th) asked us to revise our review and acknowledge the points in this review. The following is an updated response with more detail. We understand that 2023 was a challenging year. It prompted a lot of reflection on how we operate and plan for the future. While we recognize that we've faced significant hurdles, we are committed to addressing these issues head-on and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and resilience. Layoffs and Leadership Changes: It's true that Pantheon went several rounds of layoffs in 22/23 with leadership turnover. These decisions are never taken lightly and are made with the long-term health and strategy of the company in mind. Product Development: The delay in shipping new product features is a valid concern. Our product and engineering teams are working diligently to not only improve our core offerings but also to innovate and introduce new features that will add significant value to our users. We are committed to transparency in our development process and will share updates as we make progress. Financial Health and Growth: Despite the challenges, Pantheon remains financially stable. We are taking a strategic approach to growth, focusing on strengthening our core products and services. We believe that by doing so, we will be better positioned to capitalize on new opportunities. Direction and Leadership: The decision to have our Chief People Officer oversee Sales and Customer Success was made with the intention of bringing a fresh perspective and approach to these critical areas. We are confident in their ability to lead these teams effectively and are already seeing positive changes in how these departments operate. Sales Team: The turnover in our sales organization is concerning, and we are actively working to address the issues that have contributed to this situation. Moving Forward: We hear your frustration and want to assure you that we are not taking these challenges lightly. We are actively working on strategies to address each of the points you've raised. Our goal is to build a stronger, more resilient Pantheon that can weather the storms and emerge stronger. Thank you again for your feedback. It is only through honest and constructive criticism that we can hope to improve. We are here to listen and to make the necessary changes to ensure Pantheon not only survives but roars.

Pros

Lots of great people, both new and tenured. New leadership seems generally great. Strong customer base that loves the product. The new CEO is setting a high bar and shows real belief in both the business and the individuals at the company. It's an exciting time to see the opportunity and have a leader that is giving the resources the make a leap forward.

Cons

There are areas of the organization that are still stabilizing after so many leadership changes over the past year. It seems the new leadership is capable, but it will take time for the culture and trust to follow. A lot of technical debt exists, but thankfully there are lots of engineers that understand how to eliminate now. They need a chance to make this happen though.

Pros

Some nice people, and the product has a good reputation in the industry

Cons

Where to start... Once again, a new leadership team has replaced the old set of managers with new ones, and I'm surprised they found an even worse set of sycophantic, incurious performers. The people team are already posting fake reviews on Glassdoor again. Product has no clue what they are doing or why the competition is passing us. Marketing sends us AI slop and expects us to use it. I'm hoping we get sold to a company that puts real leaders in place instead of the constant stream of amateurs who know nothing about Saas.
