Pros
I wish I hadn't joined this company
Cons
Doesn’t it strike you as strange that this company only has glowing reviews from employees?
Well, there is a reason for that and that is the incredibly toxic culture that rewards bullies and sweeps under the rug all complaining and all concerns. I joined as I believed that the other reviews were made in good faith, and I believed what I was told in the interview about the flexible work environment.
It's important to note that the company has had a consistent pattern of high employee turnover, particularly in my role.
Despite being provided with an insufficient and rushed handover, I was expected to take on an overwhelming amount of work from the get-go. Some employees in my team treated me and others with disrespect, which was apparent in calls and in-person interactions. They created a very threatening atmosphere, yet no one batted an eye.
I love managers that foster a space where everyone feels empowered to be heard. However, during my time at Papercup, I experienced the complete opposite. Gaslighting is frequent both from the management and the HR. Several candidates and freelancers have observed that the company lacks organisation, and that there is an overwhelming workload for the current number of employees.
