Pros

Large pay increases can come quickly if you are a brand new developer. The work is interesting. Lots of great people. Great benefits. Culture of self improvement.

Cons

Woke culture is being pushed on employees by upper management. The evaluation matrix for determining an employee’s promotion/level is extremely ambiguous and open to interpretation so even if you excel in an area or do a job better than someone making 50% more than you there is always a reason to tell you that you are being paid fairly or in other words, put you in your place. A fair number of upper management are out of touch with lower level employees. I recall being in an unpaid meeting where a Vice President gave a pointless presentation about a retreat that the VPs had and how much fun it was. After the meeting I reached out to a coworker and asked if they got anything out of the meeting and they said they felt it was pointless as well. I’d like to reiterate it was an unpaid meeting we were expected to attend. No offense to the good people who work here but this company will never retain top talent because the best talent will feel hindered/frustrated by the promotion process.

Pros

Incredible peer group. It’s like the kids from all your honors programs in one place. Yet at Pariveda they’re all cool, interesting, and collaborative. The environment is set up so people are not in competition with each other. You earn promotion on your merits and a transparent framework. If you dedicate yourself, there is no place where you can grow faster than at Pariveda.

Cons

The personal demands can be high. It’s not a “60 hours a week” high. More like: intensely focusing on personal growth, always seeking to learn, helping others grow is an intense mindset. Plus, you look around and the baseline bar is really high Pariveda is in a state of change. That change is bringing some chaos and morale issues.
