Pros
The pay and benefits are average or better with moderate increases annually unless you move up the ladder quickly. There is always plenty of challenging work to do, more than one can handle a lot of the time.
Cons
There are many times that your job requirements are not clear and you're on your own to figure it out. Expectations are high and reward is minimal unless you want to dedicate your life to the company and move higher into management. This has chased a lot of good people with many years experience out the door in the past 8 or 9 years. Play their game and you will be golden, but what about your personal life?
