Pros

The clients were amazing, training was easy and someone was usually there to help when I had questions.

Cons

The security measures they took when I worked at Pointbank were not good. Most banks will have two people open and close the branch for security purposes but I was solely responsible for opening and closing the branch which was downright nerve wrecking. Everyday I was by myself in the branch for approximately 3-4 hours. There was no bonus opportunity, no overtime opportunity and only allowed us to work 39 hours a week as full time employees.

All policies and procedures, including security measures, are reviewed regularly for adequacy and effectiveness. When interviewing and hiring, we make very clear our staffing levels and the processes for opening and closing; the individual would have known this when accepting the position. We feel it’s improper, once someone gets hired, to expect a company to change their practices. We use better-than-standard-procedures for protecting our employees. Employee and Customer safety is our #1 priority, and has been for the 140 years we’ve been operating. This is evidenced by the fact that PointBank was named as a finalist for Best Place to Work in the ‘Best of Denton County’ for 2023, 2024 and 2025, as well as winning Best Bank in the ‘Best of Denton County’ for sixteen years straight, and Best Local Business in 2025. Schedules are set according to branch operating hours and customer flow. We try to limit the need for overtime as much as possible to ensure employees have a good work-life balance. Bonus opportunities are available, but are dependent on the employee’s own efforts.

Pros

I have been at the bank for 20+ years and have seen lots of changes. But through it all, PointBank has never lost focus of what truly matters: People! From multi-generational customers, to employees new and experienced, the bank is always looking out for its people and communities. Is there room for improvement? Always! Times change, technology advances, political and economic landscapes vary, regulatory requirements evolve, etc etc. But what has never wavered is PointBank's commitment to extraordinary service, and its ability to adapt to change! With 140+ years in operation under its belt, I have no doubt that will continue for decades to come, and I'm so proud and grateful to be a small part of it!
