I had a lot of ownership over my work and a large amount of autonomy even as an intern. As long as you show you can get stuff done they will let you run with it. Was on engineering team.

Sometimes there can be lots of frustrating issues dealing with old, broken code/drawings.

If you are competent you will be a big fish in a small pond. There's a lot of flexibility in day to day operations.

The business cannot seem to get itself together after the merger that occurred a few years back. In that merger there was a lot of brain drain, and there continues to be to this day. The company is also performing poorly financially and isn't back filling positions. You will be underpaid and overworked at this company with little to no support from the business. I cannot speak to other departments, but the engineering solutions group is filled with especially toxic managers at best, and it is clear they hold their positions because they knew the old owner and have been around for a while. The company is owned by a private equity group, and is basically being made to look good on paper to facilitate a sale; there does not seem to be a real plan for growth of the business beyond selling it at the moment.
