Pros

Overall, the patients are great to work with. There were some good coworkers who were committed to appropriate care.

Cons

I was disappointed with Powerback. I left soon after I was hired for the following reasons: I was hired full time but they could not find enough patients for me so I missed entire days of pay when they sent me home. I overheard multiple meetings with directors of rehab in which they discussed how they had no idea how they would be able to meet the hourly rate I was promised upon hire due to not having enough patients for me to see. I overheard my own director of rehab speak badly about me to other coworkers in a meeting on my first day saying that I was not yet confident in my job (which who would as it was the first day I came to work for them and I was still learning). I was asked to treat patients on my first day when I was not fully acclimated to their documentation system or work environments. I was also asked to travel all over the Madison area (as far as Fitchburg) to treat patients at different facilities when I was told I would primarily work in one location with a rare possibility of travel. Overall, I was not impressed with the culture, morals, or ethics at this facility. I would not recommend Powerback Rehab at this location to other OTs in search of a full time job.

Pros

Fifteen years ago, I joined this Rehabilitation company looking for more than just a job-I was looking for a place where I could make a meaningful difference. What I found was an organization whose mission aligned with my own values; helping people regain confidence, independence, dignity, and hope, during some of the most challenging times in their lives. From my very first day, I realized this was more than a workplace. It was a community of compassionate professionals united by a common purpose-supporting and guiding patients to achieve goals that they may have thought were out of reach. Whether it is assisting someone in taking their first steps after surgery, helping a patient return home safely and independently after an illness, or simply regain a lost skill, these moments continually remind me why our work matters so much and reinforces my commitment to this profession and especially to this organization which continually encourages me and empowers me to challenge myself and expand my capabilities. What has kept me here for the past 15 years, is not just the opportunity to build this career, but the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than myself. Powerback Rehab has fostered a culture of compassion, innovation, and continuous improvement. This company recognizes that when employees grow, patients benefit, and therefore communities become stronger. My decision to continue growing with Powerback Rehab is rooted in a simple belief. When you find a place that allows you to make a difference, supports your development, and shares your values, it becomes more than a workplace, it becomes a source of inspiration.
