Academic and Financial/Service departments are expected to function with 1/3 of the staff of comparable schools while Admissions, Institutional Advancement and Communications are bloated and ineffective. Searches for staff jobs are not done by hiring committees. Advancement and staff placement is entirely up to the whims of the department head. This leads to racism, sexism, and favoritism.
