      Great culture, team and promising product - Engineering Manager Primer Employee Review

      Pros

      - Very proactive and supportive team, everyone is engaged and works towards the same goal - Zero bureaucracy, there is room for innovation and suggesting new ideas - 100% remote and has a great practice of workations, each team can meet together at some part of the world two times / year, once a year whole company comes together - Flexible working hours, but most of the team is in EU timezone - Very exciting and promising product, definitely an innovation in the payments space and is a future of payments - Plenty of room for technical improvements, some tech debt is there as everywhere, but everyone is reasonable about addressing it and makes weighted decisions - Strong leadership team which listens to feedback from all employees - Solid compensation and benefits package

      Cons

      - Fast growing startup, lots of work, so everyone is expected to care and wear multiple hats, but I consider this more of a plus - Certain areas of product could use more engineering resources since some current teams are quite overloaded

      Pros

      This could have been a cool company. It's a smart product, thoguh not as innovative and unqiue as the founders think it is. Things that were advertised when I was hired like putting their people first, valuing differing opinions and new ideas, were a farce.

      Cons

      One of the Founders talks so condescendingly to his employees even publicly on slack that it’s alarming. Everyone is afraid to stand up to him so managers, and directors are all just yes men. Maybe the company wouldn’t be going down the tubes if they had listened to employees who were boots on the ground everyday and brought in more unique experiences than one entitled over-educated and pompous Frenchman. Micromanaging was EXCESSIVE at this company, if you don’t trust your employees, what are you doing?
