Pros

Some of the most creative, respectful, smart and dedicated teammates you’ll work with at the IC-level. Same for my managers and seniors but can’t speak for all of them. You’ll be working on an innovative product with real traction in the market, which is used by well known brands and businesses across the globe (You’d be surprised. Primer is punching well above its weight class for a 4 year old startup/scaleup.) Still operating like a lean startup so not a lot of bureaucracy or strict processes that can slow down productivity. Strong async work culture for those who thrive in such environments. Culturally diverse (Global, although european centric) workforce as a result of fully-remote environment, meaning you can learn from different perspectives and build unique relationships through your workplace.

Cons

Work life balance and ownership of your time is touted as a major benefit for all but in reality it depends on your role. This can be quite draining especially when there is no improvement or fair compensation in sight. Natural attrition and layoffs is unfortunate but should be expected; Expecting remaining employees to just ‘make it work’ with unclear strategy and increasing workloads does not make much sense. Its gotten better holistically since a previous major round of layoffs, but still heavily dependent on your role/department. Not the right place to be if you feel you need to be in the office and working face to face with your teammates every day to be motivated. Company is culturally diverse and very inclusive, but it is not very gender diverse (somewhat understandable as company is tech/engineering-heavy, but there is major room for improvement)

Pros

This could have been a cool company. It's a smart product, thoguh not as innovative and unqiue as the founders think it is. Things that were advertised when I was hired like putting their people first, valuing differing opinions and new ideas, were a farce.

Cons

One of the Founders talks so condescendingly to his employees even publicly on slack that it’s alarming. Everyone is afraid to stand up to him so managers, and directors are all just yes men. Maybe the company wouldn’t be going down the tubes if they had listened to employees who were boots on the ground everyday and brought in more unique experiences than one entitled over-educated and pompous Frenchman. Micromanaging was EXCESSIVE at this company, if you don’t trust your employees, what are you doing?
